Freddy Nolan German, Sr

Freddy Nolan German, Sr. 73 years old, passed away on October 2, 2025 at his home in Lavergne, Tennessee.

Freddy was born on September 1, 1952 in Monterey, Tennessee to the late Nolan “Buddy” and Anna Rose Way German.  He graduated from Putnam County Senior High School in 1970. Freddy accepted Christ as his Savior as a teenager while visiting with his Aunt Katherine.  He married his wife, Christie Lynn Williams German on July 11, 1981.

Freddy worked as an Auto Body Technician where he meticulously turned many autos that seemed unrepairable to show room new.  His dad, Nolan, taught him the used auto business and auto fabrication trade.  He began his career with E.B. Smith on Woodland Street in Nashville, Tennessee and he retired from ABC Auction Body Shop in Old Hickory, Tennessee.  Freddy enjoyed working on computers, raising Koi, he was a caregiver for his parents, enjoyed Turner Classic Movies, westerns and 50’s and 60’s music.

Freddy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Christie Lynn Williams German, his children, Freddy German Jr., (Brandi), Thomas German and Katherine Rose Lewis (Westley); his brother, Larry German (Darlene) of Jackson County, TN; one grandson, Silas Lewis; special friends, Hayden, Stephen, Maddox Harmon; sisters and brothers in laws, Jeff and Robbie Newlin, Wayne and Mary Bennett, Mitchell and Tracy Holt; nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Michael German and Kerry German.

Family will receive family and friends on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Tuesday, October 7, 2025 family visitation will be held one hour before the service at 10 a.m..  Funeral services will be officiated by Brother Tim Singleton at Woodfin Funeral Home, Smyrna, Tennessee and interment will be at the Mapleview Cemetery, Smyrna, Tennessee.
