Clyde M. Jacobs, Sr., age 90, peacefully passed away on March 29, 2025 at Community Care of Rutherford County after 7 months of care.
He had an accident with a lawnmower and spent two weeks at Ascension St. Thomas Hospital after back surgery.
Clyde was born on January 22, 1935 to the late Arthur Lee Jacobs and Cora D. Williams Jacobs.
Clyde was of the Pentecostal faith and was baptized at Immanual Church of Christ in Tullahoma, TN. He was a member at the St. Clair Street Senior Center for 19 years. He enjoyed playing pool with many friends he met there.
Clyde was preceded in death by his son, Clyde M. Jacobs, Jr.; sisters, Lillian Walton, Evelyn Huddleston and Dessie Fuller; brother, Carl Wayne Jacobs, Sr.; brother-in-law, Larry A. Wright; and 2 grandsons.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elsie Mae Wright Jacobs; daughter, Pamela Denise Gordon; son, Jeffery Blake Jacobs; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; brothers, Ken Jacobs and Doyle Jacobs; sister, Joyce Jacobs Kennington; sisters-in-law, Donna Wright, Ann (Thurmon) Mullins and Cathy (Jim) Welsh; brother-in-law, Eugene (Darlene) Wright.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral home with Jon Amspaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with family and friends serving as active pallbearers.
