OBITUARY: Charles Owen Manausa

Charles Owen Manausa, age 92, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro.

He was born in Chicago, IL. Chuck served in the United States Army during World War II in the 65th Infantry Division. After the war he married and had a family. He and his family moved to Boston in 1967 to work for his church, the First Church of Christ, Scientist as a Typographer for 20 years. After retirement Chuck and Lee moved to Leesburg, FL which he claimed to be the best time of their lives. In 2008 they moved to Murfreesboro, TN to live with his son and daughter-in-law. Chuck was a kind, generous, optimistic man. He always saw the good in people. His mind was sharp until his passing. He loved life and lived a rich life and wants people to remember him how he was when he was alive. He will be greatly missed but we rejoice in his belief in eternal life.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles George and Martha Rebecca Owens Manausa Sheridan (Jack Sheridan); wife, Lee Manausa; and sister, Betti McClain. He is survived by his sons, Clifford (Susan) Manausa of Thornville, OH, Joel (Claire) Manausa of Winchester, TN, Neil (Dawn) Manausa of Ashburn, VA; daughters, Jean (Fred) Pullin of Southlake, TX, Alyce (Mike) Gunn of Riverdale, NY; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and special friend, Doris Gates.

Burial will be at a later date at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, TN.
