OBITUARY: Charlene Francis Hinkle

Charlene F. Hinkle of Murfreesboro passed away November 24, 2021, at the home she loved following a short illness.

Charlene was born on April 3, 1937, the daughter of H.J. and Lottie Morgan Rader. Charlene was a native of West Virginia, moving to Nashville in 1984 with her husband, R. Clay Hinkle. He died on January 5, 2013.

Charlene graduated from Point Pleasant High School in 1956. Charlene went on to graduate from the Southern Martz Beauty Academy. Charlene also attended Marshall University and Rio Grande College of Nursing. Charlene was a licensed Cosmetologist in West Virginia and Tennessee. She received her Master License as a Cosmetology Instructor and taught for 15 years in West Virginia.

Charlene enjoyed her dogs, mowing her lawn, gardening, and music. She was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and Clay, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert B. Marshall, one sister Betty Taylor, and one foster sister Lila Anderson Walen, and her best friends who were known to chase squirrels, Puddles and Dixie. Survived by her best friend Biscuit and a host of family and friends.

Charlene would like to express her appreciation for the exceptional health care given by Dr. Richard Meyer of Heritage Medical Center and Dr. Robert Snyder.
