Bonnie Mae Anderson McKnight was born on August 28, 1930 and ended her beautiful 88 year life on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. She was born in Peel Chestnut, White County, TN and a lifelong resident of Murfreesboro, TN. Most recently she lived at Adam’s Place Assisted Living. Her career included owner of Bonnie’s Restaurant in the 1960’s, Harrison’s Drug Store and Luncheonette, and an employee of Paramount Packaging Corporation.
She was the beloved mother of Kay McKnight Jackson (Jimmy) and Wanda McKnight Brock both of Murfreesboro; grandmother of Will Jackson (Beth), Lindsey Jackson, Grant Brock, Tyler Brock and Lucas Brock; and two great granddaughters, Maddie and Mahaney Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Maggie Pirtle Anderson; husband, L.A. “Pug” McKnight and eight brothers and sisters, Myrtle Anderson, Willie Rawlins, Virble Anderson, Joe Anderson, Sue Reed, Jesse Anderson, Sam General Anderson and T.J. Anderson.
A gathering of friends and family will occur on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 PM and Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 9:30-10:30 AM followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10:30 AM with Will Jackson officiating. These events occur at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
