Bob L. Goins, age 79, of Smyrna, TN, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2018. A native of Maryville, TN, he was preceded in death by his parents; Edd and Mayme Claiborne Goins. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Maxine French; and two brothers, Melvin Goins and Marvin Goins.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at LifePoint Church in Smyrna. Pat Hood, Kyle Goen, and Benny Woods will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his loving wife Susie Hodge Goins; son, Bobby L. Goins Jr; daughter, Tammy Sue Espey and her husband Mark; granddaughters, Abbey Thomas and her husband Scott and Ashley Decker and her husband Brad; great grandchildren, Braylon Decker, Brody Decker, and Owen Thomas; sister, Eddie Hicks and her husband Ray of Maryville, TN; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Goins was a devoted member of LifePoint Church in Smyrna, formerly First Baptist Church of Smyrna. He was a retired purchaser with Tennessee Farmer’s Co-Op. Mr. Goins enjoyed spending many winters in Ft. Myers, FL with his wife. They would often attend Major League Baseball Spring Training Games. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. Mr. Goins was a proud grandfather and great grandfather which he loved and cherished very much. He was very excited about the coming birth of his fourth great grandchild, Graclynn that will carry on his middle name. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Matthew Stout, Verland Stout, Jeff Childs, Dickey Espey, Scott Thomas, Brad Decker, Larry Goins, and Justin Stout will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials in memory of Mr. Goins can be made to the LifePoint Missions.
Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at LifePoint Church in Smyrna.
