Billy Leon Newton, 84, of Lafayette TN died Wednesday, November 13, 2024 in his home surrounded by family.
Billy was born on April 5, 1940 in Hollandale, Ms. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Nancy Newton, parents John Thomas and Ida Mae Newton, sister Bobby Jewel Newton and brother John Wayne (Debra-living) Newton.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Mattie Sue Newton, brother Terry (Wanda) Newton and sister Sharon (Johnny-deceased) Privett. Billy and Sue have 4 children, Bobby (Dorothy) Newton, Becky (Jerry) Stephens, Jeffery (Sherry) Newton and Susan Barrett.
Billy had 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Billy enjoyed the great outdoors and spending time with his family.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Apostolic Church, 2315 Joe B. Jackson Pkwy, Murfreesboro TN 37127 on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests plants or self-care memorial items.
