OBITUARY: Billy Edward Troxler

Mr. Billy Edward Troxler age 74 of Gallatin, TN passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25th, 2019. Born April 1, 1944 in the Beech Grove community of Coffee County to the late William Edward and Nancy Yvonne Troxler. He was also preceded in death by second wife Bobbye Troxler.

Mr. Troxler is survived by his children, Jennifer Stephens and husband John, and Mark Trox-ler both of La Vergne, their mother Laura Ann Troxler, and granddaughter Lillianne Marie Stephens of Murfreesboro.

Billy was a 1962 graduate of Central High School. He was an avid stock car racing enthusi-ast. In his younger years he drove a race car at the Nashville Fairgrounds and worked on sev-eral friend’s race cars. He was very proud that he attended the first NASCAR race at Bristol Motor Speedway. In his later years he travelled the United States attending many racing events. He was also proud of the fact he attended every Snowball Derby in Pensacola, FL from 1968 until he became too ill to travel in 2016.

In the late 1950’s, the Troxler family started Star Drive In Market in Brentwood TN. When they moved to Williamson County in the early 1960’s they established Troxler and Son Feed Store. Billy developed his love of driving trucks while delivering feed to the various farms in the area. He worked at the family business until it was sold in 1983. Billy continued his driv-ing career with Professional Driver Services and Limousines Unlimited of Donelson. In 1990, Billy went to work for Browning Ferris Industries where he became a supervisor until he retired in 2005.
In addition to his love of race cars and driving he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and dogs.

Billy will be missed by not only his family, but also many close friends including Gary Ad-ams, Boyd Adams, Ray “Truck” Clark, Chris Bouldin, David Lewis, Randy Weaver, Debi Siniff, and Eve Whitmore.

Visitation with the family will be at Arlington United Methodist Church, 1360 Murfreesboro Road, Nashville, TN 37217, Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 11:00 am until noon. A Cele-bration of Life service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Arlington United Methodist Church.
