Betty Jane McKinion, age 85, passed away at her residence January 17, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of Rutherford County. She retired from General Electric and a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James Marvin McKinion; parents, James and Louise Underwood Bugg; son, James Marvin McKinion, Jr.; brother, J.W. Bugg, Wilburn H. Bugg; sister, Margaret and husband Walt Honeycutt; and beloved dog, Rhett. She is survived by her sons, Robert Lewis McKinion, Terry (Kimmie) Dewitte McKinion; daughters, Marilyn (Bucky) Kay Carter, Joan (Terry) Jordan, Cheryl (Lonnie) McKinion Cremeans and Lisa (Mike) Rena Manning; sister-in-laws, Juanita Bugg, Joyce Bugg, Sadie Carithers; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be 4:00-7:00 PM, Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home.
Chapel service will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home with Dr. Lenny Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.
The family would like to thank Avalon staff for their loving care and kindness shown to their mother. Special thanks to our cousins, Susan Robinson and Rachael Hartman for being there to love and console us to the very end.
