Americo Irrazabal, professional Saxophonist and Jazz aficionado, passed away in peace on November 26th, 2021. He was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest and never stop reaching for the musical stars.

Americo was a resident of Murfreesboro, TN and originally was born and raised in Uruguay, South America. Americo served on the National police force in Uruguay for 35 years until he retired as a Sergeant in 2012. Serving and helping others in need was one of the highest callings in his life. Americo displayed outstanding courage and resilience throughout his 35 years on the police force and received many awards for his service.

Americo had a lifelong love and passion for music especially jazz. His favorite instrument to play was the Saxophone which he played in several bands he was part of while living in Montevideo, Uruguay. Americo loved to share his love and knowledge of all types of music with everyone he knew and met. Americo often said that he wanted to help other people better understand the beauty of music and how it can positively impact and change lives for the better.

Americo will be fondly remembered as a loving father, amazing Saxophonist, and an amazing and genuine person who lived each day to the fullest and always had a warm and loving smile to all those he encountered throughout his life.

Americo will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those that had the honor of getting to know him throughout his exceptional journey.

Americo was preceded in death by his loving, devoted, and beautiful wife Elena Pietrafesa with whom he was married to for 52 wonderful and glorious years.

Americo is survived by his children Laura Ward and Leo Irrazabal. He is also survived by his brother Fernando and great-grandchildren Hetowa and Sahndar.

In Americo’s memory, we ask that you take a moment today to listen to some jazz or your favorite style of music. That is how we will remember him every time we hear his favorite songs. His laughter, joy, and smile riding the musical notes to Heaven and the stars.
