Oakland built a 63-point halftime lead en route to a 70-6 slaughter of Nashville’s RePublic High on Friday.
The Patriots Timmy Goodrich completed all five of his first-half passes for 157 yards and four touchdowns, and Oakland’s other quarterback, Brian Linnel, was 2-of-3 for 33 yards and two scores before half.
Mookie Wilson added a first-half score, and Jeron Rooks had a pair of catches for 86 yards and two scores in the first half.
Kicker Aaron Sears hit all nine of his extra point attempts in the first half, extending his state-record PAT streak to 121 at that point.
The Patriots eased off the gas in the second half, allowing a one-yard scoring run to RePublic, but blocking the extra point.
It’s RePublic’s first year of varsity football.
Oakland hosts Riverdale next week.
