Oakland dealt Maryville a loss that hasn’t happened to the Rebel program in 332 games.

Oakland took advantage of five Maryville turnovers and dominated the Rebels winning their Class 6A Semifinal rematch going away as they shut out Maryville 38-0.

The last time Maryville was shut out in the playoffs was 332 games ago as they lost to Smyrna 18-0 in the second round of the 1995 Class 4A playoffs.

Maryville had won the previous two meetings with Oakland winning last year’s Semifinal game 31-28 and they defeated Oakland 24-21 in the second week of the 2018 regular season.

The Patriots (13-1) will now face Whitehaven (11-3) in the Class 6A title game at 7 pm next Thursday at Tennessee Tech.

Oakland will be looking for revenge on Whitehaven as the Tigers beat Oakland 12-9 to win the 6A state title in 2016.
