Oakland vs. Maryville, Friday, November 26

Final Score: 24-14

Oakland defeated Maryville on the road to advance to the finals two seasons consecutively.

The Patriots pulled away late as they had to play from behind for part of this game. Maryville was able to keep this game at 7-0 the entire 1st quarter.

Oakland’s defense forced a turnover late in the 4th quarter to stunt Maryville from having any hope of making a comeback. The Red Rebels did not score a single point in the second half. Both teams were tied at 14 going into the third quarter.

Antonio Patterson scored two touchdowns. Both of them were at times when Oakland really needed them. The first one came by way of a 37-yard rush. Marcus Bullard and Kade Hewitt connected on a 6-yard pass which would be their only other touchdown.

An Avory Rogers 39 yard field goal gave the Patriots a 3 point edge that Maryville would not come back from.

Oakland will be playing in Chattanooga in hopes of repeating as champions against Summit. Both of these teams are undefeated and defending champions as the Spartans made the move up from 5A last season.
