New Members Elected to La Vergne Board of Mayor and Aldermen

New representatives are preparing to be sworn into the City of La Vergne’s Board of Mayor and Alderman prior to their regular meeting later this month.

Final results found Jason Cole received 5,059 votes, whereas incumbent Dennis Waldron received 3,454. In the Alderman race, Matt Church finished with 3,703 votes, followed by incumbent Melisa Brown who received 3,096. Steve Noe received 2,934 votes, Jim Anderson 2,133 votes, Aaron Holladay received 493 votes and Joey B. King received 401.

The new board members will be sworn in on November 20th prior to the Board of Mayor and Alderman meeting. When Mayor-elect Cole is sworn-in his alderman seat will become vacant. At the meeting, nominations will be made to fill the seat and the board will vote on the nominees. Once the vacant position is filled the board will nominate and vote on an alderman to serve as Vice Mayor.

Calvin Jones currently serves as an alderman on the board and will be up for reelection in 2020 along with the alderman who will be selected to fill Cole’s vacant seat.

The newly elected board members will serve a four-year term and be up for reelection in 2022.
