The Dance Store in Murfreesboro is hosting an in-store celebration of National Dance Day next Saturday July 29th from 10am-6pm. The event will feature a silent auction to benefit The Ann Campbell Early Learning Center at MTSU with over 20 amazing packages from local area businesses. There will also be drawings for in-store prizes, a goodie bag with purchase, and light refreshments. It is also tax-free weekend, so all apparel and bag purchases will be tax exempt.

“We wanted to do something fun to celebrate National Dance Day all while doing something to give back to the community,” said Paige O’Kelley, co-owner of The Dance Store.

“We feel strongly about supporting charities in our community that focus on children, education and the arts–and we are very excited to be able to raise funds for ACE this year, “ added June Bilbo, co-owner of The Dance Store.

The silent auction will include items from Altar’d States, Chop House, Kam’s Boutique, So Danca, Koji, Gaynor Minden, Five Senses, Penny’s Closet, Painting with a Twist, The Curious Kitchen, The Dance Store, and more.

Company logo tanks for adults and short sleeved tees for children will also be for sale during the event with net proceeds also going to ACE Learning Center.

The Dance Store, located at 1602 West Northfield Boulevard, carries an in depth assortment of dancewear, dance shoes, and accessories. They will be extending their hours for this event from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

National Dance Day was launched in 2010 by “So You Think You Can Dance” co-creator and judge Nigel Lythgoe. The annual celebration of dance takes place all over the United States on the last Saturday in July. The goal of the day is to bring local dance communities together all over the country, and to introduce more people to dance as a fun way to exercise and maintain good health and weight.

The ACE Learning Center at MTSU is an inclusive preschool program for children ages 15 months through kindergarten. The program provides developmentally appropriate learning environments where children with and without developmental delays play together and learn from each other. ACE Learning Center is approved by the Tennessee Department of Education and licensed by the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
