Original Story:

Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department’s Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal Carl Peas has instructed his Community Risk Reduction Division staff to cease all permission to burn within the city limits of Murfreesboro for the next several days.

Peas said the weather outlook, which includes several days of high winds, rain, and possible thunderstorms, is not conducive to safe atmospheric conditions for burning outdoors.

“The burn ban will be effective until Monday, April 15,” said Peas. “We will re-evaluate that morning and act accordingly.”
