100 Miles of Hate Renewed (Basketball Edition)

Western Kentucky (9-9, 3-2)

Middle Tennessee (13-3, 4-0)

The boys in Blue surrendered the first four points of the game, but after that it was all Raiders.

At times WKU couldn’t complete a pass on the offensive end due to a buzzing Blue Raider D. Effort was not lost at the other end for the Raiders either. As they ran by, through and just plain jumped over Hilltoppers at will. Multiple times in the first half there were Raiders diving on the court for loose balls, big men sprinting from rim to rim and plenty of crowd raising dunks. The magnitude of this rivalry was manifesting itself in MT’s first half play. The Raiders would pour in 46 before the first half horn sounded. MTSU would lead by as many as 19 in the first, but the Hilltoppers wouldn’t go away, scratching back to within 14. Halftime score would be 46-32.

In the second the Hilltoppers would get the score as close as single digits, but never truly threaten a MTSU lead. JaCorey Williams continues to make Ole Miss  wish he was still around with another 20 point game on 9-15 from the field. Williams got wherever he wanted on the floor routinely and lived at the rim with multiple slams on the night. The Raiders would lead 33 minutes of the game and go on to knock the toppers off their hill winning 82-67

MTSU’s next game will be on the road in Miami as they travel to take on the Panthers of FIU in a C-USA match up.
