Raiders and Tigers, Oh My

The Murph was the sight of the cross county battle as MTSU hosted the TSU Tigers.
The night started off with the man who is known for his three point prowess, Giddy Potts, rocking the rim with a slam that brought the Murph to its feet.

MT’s first two games the Raiders had a distinct advantage in athleticism, but the Tigers were a different story. Matching the big blue step for step on the floor and the score board.

MTSU held the lead the entire first half, excluding one tie, despite TSU having the advantage in most statistical categories. The Raiders would go into the half way mark with a 30-28 lead over The Tigers.

2nd Half

JaCorey Williams was quiet in the first, only putting up two points. The second half he would be silenced no more, dropping 16 and leading the Raiders in scoring with 18. Even with JaCorey continuing his hot start to the season and Reggie Upshaw with a solid outing of 13 points and six rebounds the Raiders would submit the lead.

Eventually being out-rebounded 36/25 and a points in paint deferential of 38/18 in favor of the TSU would catch up with MTSU. The Tigers would take their first lead late in the second and never looked back.

The Raiders would go on to drop their first game of season and move to a record of 2-1. MTSU will host it’s last game before they start a five game road trip. MTSU will host Toledo Nov. 22nd at 6:30.
