At 1:37pm this afternoon, MPD officers responded to 920 Greenland Dr. Apt. 124 in reference to a report of gunshots being fired. When officers arrived, they discovered that one person had been shot and that a suspect ran on foot towards Highland Ave. It was reported that a second person may have been injured during the incident and left the scene prior to police arriving. Responding officers and a K9 team searched the area but did not find the suspect(s) or the possible second victim.
The victim was transported to St. Thomas Rutherford by RCEMS with non-life threatening injuries.
Area schools were advised to secure their buildings while the search was conducted.
One suspect is described as a black male, wearing a black shirt and black jeans. A possible second suspect is described as a light skinned black male (no clothing description available).
