Did you know that a drone flying license is required for any individual using drones for business purposes? From April 1st through 6th, Motlow State Community College is offering a Drone Course.

This course is to support and prepare professionals or drone enthusiasts who need to pursue the FAA licensing exam. The FAA license is required for any professional utilizing a drone for business purposes. Drone pilot licensing is often needed for individuals in the following industries: Police, Fire, EMS / Photographers, Videographers / Construction, Engineering/ Realtors, Property Developers / Forestry, Agriculture.

This 24 hour course is designed to help students become familiar with the basics of becoming a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certified Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC) and entering this growing field of commercial drone operations. This course aims to ensure the students are ready and confident to take the FAR 107 certification exam.

The course is taught by knowledgeable and well-trained instructors with applicable experience, collaboration, and interactive learning activities to reinforce the retention and application of the regulations based on the most up to date and proven research on teaching and learning. The hands-on flying experience and real-life application of learning these skills is a major part of thecurriculum with expert UAS instructors.

Note: Minimum age for attendance is 16 and all attendees must have a valid driver’s license.
