Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue, Murfreesboro Police Department, and Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office participated in a Public Safety Volleyball Tournament at The Goat on Saturday, September 24.

A portion of the proceeds went to the winning team’s Relay for Life Team.

Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue had two teams in the event, “Crimson Knights and Ashleyland.” The “Crimson Knights” took the overall win.

The win not only got the team bragging rights, but also a trophy and approximately $400 for their Relay for Life Team “Boro Public Safety.”

The Boro Public Safety Team is comprised of MFRD, MPD, and Fire/Police Dispatch Communications. The donation gives the team a great start toward their 2017 goal!

The winning team was as follows: Fire Rescue Chief Mark Foulks, Evan Foulks, Captain Brian Burgess, and Firefighters Tim Corder, Ryan Daniel, and James Strader. Engineer Adam Petrig from the “Ashleyland” team filled in for Corder for a portion of the games.

Thank you to all who came out and supported the event. The intent is for The Goat to host this annually.
