MFRD Responds To Large Mulch Fire

Just before 12:30 Friday, Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department’s Engine 4, Ladder 7, and Rescue 7 responded to a large mulch fire at 1639 Medical Center Parkway (Gateway Title Service).

Troy GannonThe wind made it difficult for Firefighters to extinguish the flames. The fire, which initiated in a 30′ x 80′ mulch bed, jumped a patio area and ignited another mulched area. After pulling a total of three 1 3/4″ lines, crews finally knocked the fire down.

The building filled with smoke and employees had to be evacuated. The building also received damage to the windows and outside electrical boxes.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
