2019 Martin Luther King Jr Day March in Murfreesboro

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is an annual federal holiday that celebrates the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. The American holiday honors the life and achievements of this influential civil rights leader.

The community is invited to a Martin Luther King Day March.

WHAT: The Murfreesboro Lodge # 12, Free & Accepted Masons, P.H.A, with the assistance of  Corporate Sponsors Bridgestone & The United Steel Workers Union, leads The 15th Annual Martin Luther King Jr Day March.

Participants include The Murfreesboro NAACP, The Divine Nine Greek Organizations, Smithfork District Youth & Choir Leaders, & The Community as a Whole.

Parade Route: The March begins at Central Magnet School, 701 E. Main Street, in Murfreesboro with the line up at 11:30 a.m. and the march beginning promptly at Noon and ending at Patterson Park Community Center Pavilion.

An MLK Jr. Holiday Program for students and community youths will begin at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Patterson Park Community Center. No food or drinks will be allowed inside.

The public is invited to attend. The event is sponsored by the Dr. Martin Luther Jr. Scholarship Fund of Rutherford County.
