Not only is our daily commute longer, thanks to the influx of people moving to middle Tennessee, but the miles people drive to work has also increased. According to the Nashville Area Chamber, Davidson, Williamson, and Rutherford Counties continue to attract some of the biggest companies as potential sites for their headquarters or corporate operations including Dollar General, Caterpillar, Asurion, Nissan, Emdeon, State Farm, and Verizon. This means that a lot of people are commuting into Williamson and Rutherford counties every day. In fact, one in three Middle Tennesseans crosses county lines in order in their daily commute.
