Man Dies Following 7-Eleven Shooting in Murfreesboro

UPDATE: May 15, 2024, 9:30pm – One of the shooting victims, a 23-year-old man, has died. The other victim, who was shot in the shoulder area, is in the hospital in stable condition. 26-year-old Juan Charco has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder The investigation continues as to what led up to the shooting. Charco was one of the men in the black truck who fired at the two men driving the Mercedes. Charco’s brother was interviewed by detectives and released. Charges could be pending as the investigation progresses.

UPDATE: May 15, 2024 – At 2:39 p.m. MPD responded to reports of a shooting at the 7 Eleven Exxon on Joe. B. Jackson Pkwy. When officers arrived they found two men shot; one multiple times, the other was shot in the arm.

Preliminary investigation indicates two men in a black Ford F150 were towing a Chrysler 200 and stopped at the business. The truck was having mechanical issues. They removed the Chrysler from a trailer. Two men then pulled up in a silver Mercedes.

There was a confrontation and then shots were fired. After the shots, the two men in the truck got into a physical altercation with the man shot in the arm. The man shot in the arm ran inside the business.

Police detained the two men in the black truck and took them to police headquarters for questioning.

Investigators are trying to figure out the motive.

No conditions on the two men as of yet.

The investigation continues.

May 15, 2024 – Murfreesboro authorities responded to the scene of a shooting that left two people injured Wednesday.

The shooting happened at the 7 Eleven Exxon on Joe. B Jackson Parkway around 2:30pm.

Police say two gunmen were taken in custody. No information was released on the shooting victims’ current conditions.

As of 4pm, the 7 Eleven and Burger King are closed as detectives investigate the motive. There are also traffic delays on Joe B. Jackson.
