Local Non-Profit Offers Youth Music Lessons

The Ethos Youth Ensembles, a non-profit youth orchestra program based in Murfreesboro and featuring student musicians from around Middle Tennessee, is gearing up for its 22nd Season, offering to area youth a Children’s Choir, beginning string lessons, a jazz band, and three youth orchestras.

The Children’s Choir is newest addition to the Ethos Youth Ensembles. Under the Direction of local music educator Rachel Lapinsky, the Ethos Children’s Choir will serve students in grades K-2 from Rutherford and surrounding counties.

Students in grades 2-5 can also take group lessons for beginners on violin, viola, cello, or bass with the Ethos Music Academy. Last year, Academy students teamed up with older students in the Ethos Youth Orchestras to perform arrangements of major symphonic repertoire at Ethos subscription concerts.

Older students can also audition to join the Ethos Camerata Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and Jazz Band.  Auditions for the Ethos Wind Symphony will take place this November.

Interested families should attend the Ethos Kickoff Meeting on Sunday, September 16 at 2pm at MTSU’s Wright Music Building.  For more information and to RSVP for the Kickoff Meeting, please visit www.EthosMusic.net.

  1. Ethos was really a great experience for my son. His Ethos experience helped prepare him for his next step, Nashville Youth Symphony.

My family is very thankful and grateful for Ethos, Mike.
