Conference USA has announced its 2016 All-Freshman football team, as selected by the league’s 13 head football coaches. Middle Tennessee’s Ty Lee and Tyshun Render made the team to give the Blue Raiders at least one member for the fourth straight year.
Lee, a true freshman receiver from Moultrie, GA, played in all 12 games and earned 10 starts on his way to catching 53 passes for 599 yards and seven touchdowns. His 53 receptions also rank as the fifth most nationally among freshmen.
Render, a redshirt freshman out of Newnan, GA, played in all 12 games as a defensive end for the Blue Raiders. Render turned in 17 tackles, including a TFL, a pass breakup and three quarterback hurries.
