In a bizarre story out of La Vergne on Sunday , a Metro Schools PT teacher and tutor was arrested by La Vergne police for having 3 children in the trunk.
Andria James is a part-time tutor at Alex Green Elementary and has been since September. She will be placed on administrative leave as soon as district offices reopen in the morning, as is standard procedure when an employee is arrested. We are in contact with the authorities in Rutherford County and will cooperate fully with their investigation. Obviously, the acts she is accused of are completely inappropriate for an educator entrusted with caring for students, and we will take further disciplinary action if needed as more details come to light.–Metro Schools
According to the police report James had 6 kids in the cab and 3 in the trunk of her Chevy Malibu. According to WSMV-TV, James told them the children were playing in the trunk at the Speedway in La Vergne , where the arrest took place, while parked. La Vergne Police say surveillance film will show differently when intorduced into evidence in Rutherford County courts March 9th. James is facing 3 counts child endangerment.
