La Vergne Police Chief Mike Walker welcomed 3 new officers to his department in a formal swearing in ceremony last week.
Officers Jeb Sloan, Thomas Gray, and David Vega Maymi officially joined La Vergne Police after graduating from the academy. The rookies started their training in July.
Chief Walker said after the ceremony, “One of the happiest moments in the life of a Chief is getting the privilege to give these young men their badges.”
The newly sworn-in officers will go through 12 weeks of field training, where they will learn more-specific skills that apply to La Vergne, as well as how to apply those newly obtained skills to real-life situations.
