July 22, 2024 – A change to what had become a “morning coffee routine” led to a very lucky happenstance for a La Vergne man, who won $1,000 a week for life playing the Tennessee Education Lottery’s Cash 4 Life drawing-style game.
“The store where I usually get coffee was pretty busy that morning,” explained William W. when claiming his prize last week. “So, I went to a different place and picked up a lottery ticket or two, as well … and you see what happened!” William, who says he isn’t sure yet what he will do with his winnings but is still “amazed” at his good fortune, purchased the lucky ticket at Larros Market, 415 Old Nashville Hwy. in La Vergne.
This is Tennessee’s third winner of this prize, paid in annual installments for the winner’s lifetime.
Cash 4 Life is a multi-jurisdictional, drawing-style game with nine ways to win. The top prize is $1,000 a day for life, and the second-level prize is $1,000 a week for life. Tickets are $2 per play, and drawings are held every night.
