City of La Vergne officials are continuing to restore systems following a cybersecurity incident that occurred on October 17. Several city offices are scheduled for a soft reopening on Monday, October 27, offering limited in-person services while digital systems remain offline.
Staff will not be able to access account records, check balances, or process issues requiring internal databases. However, departments that are open to the public may accept check or money order payments.
The Public Works Building at 1500 E. Nir Shreibman Boulevard will reopen, with the Codes and Planning Departments conducting most business as usual. The Water Billing and Tax Departments will accept check and money order payments only, and residents are encouraged to bring their water bills when paying. Assessment questions should be directed to the Rutherford County Property Assessor’s Office.
The Parks and Recreation Department will also reopen and is inviting residents to attend this weekend’s Goblins & Goodies at the Park event. Public safety operations, including the Police and Fire and Rescue Departments, have remained fully functional throughout the disruption.
The La Vergne Public Library and City Court will stay closed for now, though the library’s book drop remains available for returns.
City IT staff continue to inspect and verify each computer system before bringing it back online. Access to data will remain restricted until the ongoing investigation into the breach is complete. Officials say they appreciate the community’s patience as recovery efforts continue and encourage residents to sign up for updates through the city’s Notify Me system or follow La Vergne on Facebook.
