Joint MNPD-La Vergne Police Drug Investigation Leads to Drug Seizure

A joint investigation by East Precinct undercover detectives, LaVergne Police detectives, and DEA task force members into alleged cocaine sales by a LaVergne woman led to Wednesday’s execution of a Rutherford County search warrant and the arrest of the suspect.

Demetrius Monique Brown, 38, of Kingsridge Drive in LaVergne, is jailed in Rutherford County on felony drug and weapon charges.

During a search of Brown’s apartment, investigators seized 7.3 ounces of cocaine, three pounds of marijuana, five grams of methamphetamine, 615 ecstasy pills, 753 Xanax bars, four vehicles, one handgun (reported stolen in Clarksville), and $72,788 cash.

This investigation began with Brown’s alleged cocaine sales in East Nashville. LaVergne officers joined the case when it became apparent that Brown’s illegal drug activities were based in Rutherford County.
