During the ceremonial items on the Sept. 19, 2019, Murfreesboro City Council agenda was a momentous occasion. Lifelong resident John Verge was honored by Mayor Shane McFarland with a Key to the City of Murfreesboro and a Proclamation proclaiming Sept. 19, 2019 as a day to honor John.

John Verge is a life-long resident of Rutherford County, graduating from Riverdale High School; and

For over three decades John has volunteered his time at the Salvation Army and the Boys and Girls Club, where he gave of his time and service and also acted as sports announcer.

Throughout the years John has proven to be a loyal friend, humble servant, loyal citizen, and prayer warrior.
