Murfreesboro Fire Rescue is pleased to announce its newest MFRD family member, part-time Supply Clerk Jim Cross.
Cross reported for his first day on the job Tuesday, May 30. His responsibilities include but are not limited to ordering and delivering supplies to the stations, distributing mail within the department, and cleaning the Fire Administration Office.
He is no stranger to the fire service. Cross was a volunteer for five years and spent 32 years with a paid department in Anna, Illinois. At Anna Fire Rescue, he served as a Captain for two years and Chief for 22 years!
Jim and wife Dianne now reside in Murfreesboro. In his spare time he enjoys watching his granddaughter play softball, cooking outdoors, and antique automobiles.
“I look forward to working with a great group of people and becoming a member of the MFRD family,” Cross said.
“It was not a prerequisite to work in the fire service for this position,” said Fire Rescue Chief Mark Foulks, “but we are elated to have someone with that kind of background join our team. Understanding the innerworkings and needs of a fire department will no doubt make Jim a great asset to our firefighters.”
