Injuries Continue To Plague Stars

In Week 1, Siegel Coach Greg Wyatt told us injuries were having an effect on the Stars ability to perform better. That would also be the case in Week 2. After a heartbreaker against Ravenwood in Week 1 , a trip to Hendersonville to take on a strong Commandos team was not the medicine the Stars needed.

Siegel Never Quit

Despite an early 2 touchdown lead, and losing Week 1 standout RB Rodney Murray after 2 plays, the Siegel Stars never quit. After Hendersonville took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, Siegel answered behind the leg of  Jacob Smith, who kicked 2 of his 3 field goals in the second quarter. At the half Siegel was only down by eight, 14-6.

After holding Hendersonville to a FG in the third, Siegel found themselves only down 17-6 to start the fourth quarter. Much like Week 1, injuries and lack of depth started to wear on the Stars. The Commandos would score two rushing TDs in the fourth. Smith kicked his third FG. The final score : Hendersonville 31 Siegel 9.

Week 3

Siegel looks to get its first win at home this Friday night against an Oakland team who just came off a huge win over Hillsboro on national TV. Oakland is 2-0.
