Around 9:05a.m. this morning, officers responded to 1014 Gunnerson Ave. to investigate a call of a suspicious person armed with a gun. The caller stated that the person was a convicted felon and was responsible for recent robberies in the area.
When officers arrived, they confronted the subject, who was retreating into a residence. The subject went to a back room and shot himself. EMS pronounced the subject deceased on the scene.
The CID is on scene investigating the incident.
MTSU was notified and Reeves Rogers Elementary was placed on lockdown for a brief period.
