On September 16, Buona, Chicago’s original Italian beef, and The Original Rainbow Cone celebrated the debut of two regional icons in Murfreesboro with prizes including free beef sandwiches for a year, catering packages, treats from Rainbow Cone and much more. As part of the grand opening festivities, the first 1,500 guests each received a sealed mystery prize envelope containing a guaranteed special offer, including 100 giveaways of free Italian beef sandwiches for a year.
Buona’s Italian beef sandwich is a classic Chicago street food that’s still prepared the way it was in the early 1930s: with thin slices of perfectly seasoned slow-roasted beef steeped in its own natural gravy. The beef is piled high onto Chicago-French bread and topped with “sweet” or “hot” peppers.
The Murfreesboro restaurant gives Tennessee its first and only chance to try this real-deal taste of Chicago’s culinary heritage. Guests can look forward to enjoying Buona’s authentic Italian beef sandwiches and other classic Chicago street food, along with Rainbow Cone’s famous sliced cones, including the world-famous Rainbow Cone and chef-created Sliced Creations. Other treats include mini donuts, sundaes, ice cream cakes, and more.
This grand opening marks Buona’s first restaurant outside the Midwest, giving Murfreesboro residents their first opportunity to experience authentically prepared Chicago Italian beef and Rainbow Cone’s legendary five-flavor treat all under one roof.
