Local Businesses Come Together

Have a meal at Peter D’s, The Alley on Main, Curious Kitchen and Oscar’s this month and help provide meals for struggling families in our community.

September is Hunger Action Month, a month when people all over America are working to spread the word and take action on the hunger crisis.

Locally, businesses are partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee to raise funds to help the 37,250 food-insecure people – including 13,450 children – in Rutherford County. Last year, Second Harvest provided more than 2.6 million meals in Rutherford County through partner agencies such as Greenhouse Ministries, The Journey Home, Domestic Violence Program and Midland Baptist Church.

Peter D’s will donate $1 to Second Harvest for every Tennessee Burger sold in September. The Alley on Main will donate $1 for every meatball pasta or Alley Sammie sold in September. Curious Kitchen will donation a portion of sales of peanut butter cups sold in September. Oscar’s will donate $1 for every breakfast burrito sold at any of its four Rutherford County locations.

Additionally, Mayday Brewery will offer 2-for-1 pints on Fridays in September for anyone who brings a can of peanut butter to be donated to Second Harvest.

Every dollar donated to Second Harvest provides four meals to hungry children, seniors and families throughout the organization’s 46-county service area.
