Here are our picks for Rutherford County Player of the Week after the conclusion of Week 9.

Jose Baeza, kicker, Smyrna

Jose Baeza Smyrna Smyrna scored a last-second, 15-14 victory over Stewart’s Creek on Friday. The man responsible for the final points was kicker Jose Baeza, who nailed a field goal in the game’s final seconds. Baeza hit a pair of kicks from 26 yards, and one more from 24. Baeza added a successful onside kick, to boot.

Kemari McGowan, running back/linebacker, Middle Tennessee Christian

Siegel's Lelan Wilhoite Unstoppable Again on Friday

The MTCS star has been great as a running back, and his 14-carry, 126-yard, two-touchdown performance in a 55-21 win over Middle Tennessee Christian was nothing new. What was new was McGowan’s defensive impact. As a linebacker, he added a sack and forced a fumble on Friday, too.

Woodi Washington, defensive back/wide receiver, Oakland

Like McGowan, Washington is no stranger to our rankings. Washington was also like McGowan in that he added a big contribution on both sides of the ball last Friday. In Oakland’s 50-14 pounding of Siegel, the junior caught six balls for 124 yards and a score, and added an interception on defense. The Patriots remain unbeaten.

Jeron Rooks, running back, Oakland

Rooks had his usual fantastic game in Oakland’s rout of Siegel. He ran 18 times for 177 yards and five scores, and added one catch for 25 more.

Savion Davis, running back, Riverdale

Riverdale's Davis Comes up Big at Coffee County

Davis’s tremendous season for Riverdale continues. He rushed 18 times for 228 yards and two touchdowns, as the Warriors bombed Coffee County, 56-21, on the road last Friday.
