Here are our picks for Rutherford County Player of the Week after the conclusion of Week 11. Our list includes one new name and four familiar ones.
Connor Mitchell, quarterback, Blackman
Blackman quarterback Connor Mitchell was a big reason the Blaze won a 28-26 decision over Riverdale. Mitchell hit 8-of-13 passes for two touchdowns and one interception, and added 118 yards on 14 carries. Blackman is now 8-2.
Josh Lewis, wide receiver, LaVergne
LaVergne’s receiver hauled in six passes for 183 yards and three scores. That last touchdown proved to be the game-winner in a 28-21 victory over Stewart’s Creek.
Ethan Cobb, quarterback, Eagleville
Eagleville picked up a 35-0 win over Summertown thanks to great play from its quarterback. Cobb ran five times for 57 yards and a touchdown, and threw 23 times, completing 18, for 212 and two more scores.
Savion Davis, running back, Riverdale
Riverdale’s bell-cow runner was great again, even if the Warriors lost 28-26 to Blackman. Davis ran 37 times for 219 yards and four scores.
Lelan Wilhoite, running back, Siegel
Siegel was eliminated from playoff contention in a 48-30 loss to Cookeville, but it was hardly Lelan Wilhoite’s fault. In his final high school game, the Stars’ runner dashed 25 times for 214 yards and two touchdowns, and added five catches for 105 and another score.
