Two mortgage officers, an independent business owner and an insurance agent are just a few
people from the community who will don costumes for charity at Clue the Party.

Clue the Party will offer a zany night of mystery and suspense in the perfect setting, Oct. 13 at the Oaklands Mansion and all for a good cause, the Murfreesboro Cold Patrol and Oaklands
Mansion.

Eight people have volunteered to play the iconic characters and raise money to support local
charities at the greatest whodunit costume party that Murfreesboro has ever seen.

Gretchen Bilbro said it was her love of the cult-classic 1985 movie that inspired her to volunteer to play Mrs. White.

“She is my favorite movie character,” Bilbro said about the black-clad, deadpan Madeline Kahn. Bilbro said the board game is also a staple in her home.

“I love playing the board game with my kids,” she said, adding raising money for two great local nonprofits made volunteering the perfect opportunity.

Bilbro will be joined by Sherrie Adams (Mrs. Peacock), Angela Howard (Miss Scarlett), Ariana
Vandenburgh (Yvette the Maid), Eric Parks (Colonel Mustard), Chase Salas (Professor Plumb),
Matthew Stump (Mr. Green) and Kevin Fehr (Wadsworth the Butler).

These kind people have offered to raise $1,000 each to secure their roles in a night of mystery, murder and madness. They have until Aug. 31 to raise their funds.

Members of the public are asked to help raise money by making pledges in the honor of a
character. The money raised will be split between Oaklands Mansion and the Cold Patrol.

Murfreesboro Cold Patrol is a group of volunteers who work to combat chronic homelessness.

They seek out the chronically homeless and try to meet their immediate physical needs.
Oaklands Mansion will use the funds to continue with its regular upkeep of the historic house.

Lay said she is also looking for businesses to help sponsor the cost of the event. There are
three sponsorship levels ranging from $1,000 to $250.

“Sponsors will be included in all our promotional efforts, get tickets to the party and a heartfelt thank you from the Cold Patrol and Oaklands,” Lay said.

Food and drink sponsors are also needed, she added. To donate or participate in any way, contact Lay at 615-904-4359 or [email protected].
