Trending this afternoon is an announcement 10 years in the making: NBC announced that the entire cast of Friends will return to TV for a 2 hour special on Director James Burrows. Burrows whose popular comedies include Taxi, The Bob Newhart Show, and Cheers will be the focus of the show.
However, NBC felt the need to put a disclaimer to getting all six “Friends” in the same room together :
According to NBC chief Robert Greenblatt: “I’m hoping all six will be in same room at same time, I’m not sure we can logistically can pull it off.”
The news, which emerged from the Television Critics Association’s press tour in Pasadena on Wednesday, states that Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer will all return and feature in a tribute celebrating the career of comedy director James Burrows. Online petitions, #FriendsReunion have become more popular in recent years on social media, and for now this is the best that fans of the popular show will receive in return.
No date has been set for the special.
