
Rutherford County has plenty in store for the Fourth of July this year. From fireworks over Murfreesboro to live music in LaVergne, families across the county have no shortage of ways to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. Here’s what’s happening near you:
Murfreesboro
July 4
The Fountains
1500 Medical Center Pkwy, Murfreesboro
Festivities begin at 4:30pm
Murfreesboro’s Celebration Under the Stars will take place on July 4,2026 at The Fountains located off of Medical Center Parkway. Food trucks, a DJ and the Splash Pad will begin 4:30 p.m., live entertainment by John Foster begins at 7:00 p.m., and the fireworks start at 9:00 p.m. Parking is free and first come first serve. Foster is a 19-year-old American Idol Season 23 runner up known for his rich baritone which is making him one of America’s hot new country music voices.
LaVergne
July 4
Veterans Memorial Park
115 Floyd Mayfield Drive
Gates open at 5:30pm
LaVergne will host their Independence Day Celebration on July 4 at Veterans Memorial Park, located at 115 Floyd Mayfield Drive. This free event includes fireworks, live music featuring Zone Status, and food vendors. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Zone Status begins at 6:00 p.m. Fireworks will be shot off at dark. Families are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs, as well as their own picnic dinners. Visitors may also dine from a selection of food vendors who will be on site.
The Town of Smyrna hosted its Independence Day event on Thursday, July 2 at Lee Victory Recreation Park. The event featured 80s dance party band Rubik’s Groove, over 50 vendors, inflatables, food vendors and fireworks.
