Former Eagles Assistant Coach Floyd Walker takes the reigns as the new head coach and he has some pretty good young talent to work with. Freshman quarterback Ethan Cobb led Rutherford County in passing (1,857 yards) during the regular season. And sophomore Graham Hatcher led the county in receiving (919 yards).

Add to that some old MTSU friends in Assistant Coach Tom Fiveash and Quarterback Coach Alex Robins, and Eagleville seems poised to do well.

Eagleville Looks To Get Past First Round

It won’t be easy for Eagleville to return to the playoffs, but they should do just that. A quick look at the schedule and Watertown and Westmoreland , both jump out at me immediately. Watertown was 8-3 last year and Westmoreland finished at 5-6 , however both beat the Eagles last year.

Forrest will travel to the Eagles this year. Last year Forrest was 7-0 in Region play and went 9-2 overall. The Eagles need to figure out how to get more points up on the board scoring only 180 last year, second worse in the region.

Eagleville opens at Lewis County Friday night.
