Rutherford County Fire and Rescue (RCFR) responded to a residential fire on Bairdscorner Drive in Murfreesboro last night around 11:00 PM. The first arriving engine company reported heavy fire and smoke coming from the attached garage of a single-family residence.

Firefighters initiated an aggressive fire attack to prevent the flames from spreading into the home’s main living area. Crews searched the residence and located one occupant. The individual was safely removed from the house and evaluated by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Service personnel on scene.

Due to the swift actions of responding crews, the fire was contained to the garage area, with only minor smoke damage reported in the adjoining living space.

RCFR Commander John Ingle commended the crews’ performance.

“The rapid response and decisive actions by our firefighters directly contributed to the successful rescue of the occupant and the containment of the fire,” Ingle said. “Their training and quick coordination made the difference in saving a life and preserving the home.”

No firefighters were injured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the RCFR Fire Marshal’s Office.

RCFR was assisted on scene by, Rutherford County EMS, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, and the American Red Cross.
