OZ Arts is THE place in Nashville to experience groundbreaking visual and performance art. (Unless you still think your in-shower rendition of The Greatest Love of All is performance art, in which case, the point is moot.)
This Saturday is OZ’s annual Family Day and you owe it to yourself (and your kids) to check it out. Here are three reasons we’re psyched about this imagination-fueled day of interactive art, extreme sports and family fun.

EXTREME SPORTS + INTERACTIVE ART = AWESOME
Maybe you were always told you could be an athlete or an artist, but not both. This year, OZ Arts will show you how sports and art come together for an experience that marries imagination, activity and creativity.
Dozens of local artists and community organizations will set up activity stations around the Oz Arts campus, both indoor and outdoor, for visitors to learn how art and sports come together — hands on. Activities from mini canvas painting to Cruiser skateboard deck design & finishing and many more will teach athletes and artists, young and old, why sports and art are better together.

GO BIG OR GO HOME
One of the biggest transformations you’ll see is the OZ Arts parking lot, which will become the venue for BMX and skateboard pros to put on two rad shows during the festival. (You haven’t seen big air like this since you put that cucumber beside your cat.)
Visual artist Brandon Donahue will also create interactive art installments — both an outdoor volleyball court and indoor basketball court. You can also see Brandon’s art — created from scavenged sports equipment and found urban artifacts.

DANCE PAR-TAAAAY (WITH A VERY SPECIAL GUEST)
No sports-related event would be complete without a local sports celebrity, and OZ Arts called in their buddy Gnash to come meet and greet all the guests.
And just in case you’re lacking enthusiasm, there’s a DJ dance party to help you find your mojo before you shake Gnash’s paw. We could definitely check off a bucket list item if we got to do the YMCA with the NHL’s most amazing mascot…just sayin!
Don’t wait — grab your tickets now and enjoy this one-of-a-kind family fun day at OZ Arts!
