7th Annual Little Walter Jam with Robben Ford
3rd and Lindsley
Sat, Jul 20 8:00 pm

Robben takes us to school on some of his early influences in the Chicago blues genre, sometimes referred to as the "School of Little Walter," named for Little Walter Jacobs, a legendary blues harmonica player.  First generation Chicago blues artists like Tampa Red, Big Bill Broonzy, and Memphis Minnie brought their acoustic style to the city before the popularity of amplified instrumentation transformed the sound of the city into what today we consider the "classic" Chicago blues sound.
