Decorating for the holidays can get expensive, but festive decor is one of those things that can make the holidays feel special. To help you get in the holiday spirit without breaking the bank, here are some inexpensive ways to decorate your home for the holidays on a budget.

Use Pillows/Throws

Do you have pillows or throws in holiday colors (red, green, silver or even gold)? Bring those out and don’t worry if they aren’t holiday themed. You just want to make your space cozy and inviting.

Make it Natural

Some of the best pieces to decorate with during the holidays are items found in nature. Make a fresh pine garland wreath or add some pinecones. The greenery and the pinecones are holiday classics that are great for sprucing up your space.

Light Some Candles

Not only do candles add the wonderful scent of the holidays, but they bring some festive light and decoration to your space with relatively little effort. Place some holly berry branches around them, add some pinecones, or even some ornaments and you have yourself an easy accent to any table or mantle.

Display Holiday Cards

This is one of my most favorite things about the season. Make use of your cards, hang them on some garland or wire and display them above a fireplace. You can also set them up nicely on the mantle.

Fill Vases with Ornaments

If you have any vases or baskets lying around the house, try filling them with ornaments for a charming and festive decoration. They make great centerpieces for the mantel or even the dining room table. Try using a variety of different colors and styles of ornaments to add an extra layer of design.

Decorating for the holidays doesn’t have to be a big deal or expensive. Use these simple tips to decorate your space and enjoy the festive season of the holidays.
