With $250 savings bonds and up to $1,000 cash on the line, the Williamson County Fair is encouraging entries for its Pageants divisions and Sing Your Heart Out vocal competition, respectively, as deadlines for entries approach. Applications are due by Friday, July 27 for Sing Your Heart Out and Friday, August 3 for pageants, each with a $25 entry fee.

All pageants will take place on Sunday, August 5 at the Performing Arts Center at Academy Park for the second year in a row, with Sing Your Heart Out preliminaries also held at the local theater for the first time on Wednesday, August 1. The change in venue comes as the number of entries in both Williamson County Fair competitive events continues to grow and more space and seating is needed for contestants and their families.

The Sing Your Heart Out final competition will be held onsite at the Fair, Tuesday, August 7 at 6 p.m. on the outdoor NISSAN Bluegrass Stage. The contest is open to residents of Tennessee and adjoining states, with separate elementary, middle and high school divisions. A first, second and third place winner will be selected from each age group, who will win a cash prize of $500, $100 and $50, respectively. One Grand Prize Overall Winner will be named from the three first-place winners and will receive an additional $500 cash. Applications are due in the Williamson County Fair office by Friday, July 27. For a full list of rules and regulations, including entry fees, deadlines and competition times, go to www.williamsoncountyfair.org.

The Williamson County Fair Pageants will begin at 2 p.m.on Sunday, August 5 with the Babies and Toddlers contest and will end with the selection of the Fairest of the Fair, which begins at 7 p.m. Each pageant contestant will receive a crown and a rose. Winners of the Fairest of the Fair, Teen Miss, Junior Miss, Little Miss and Petite Miss divisions will also receive a $250 savings bond, trophy, and sash. The Fairest of the Fair will go on to compete in the State Fairest of the Fair Contest at the Tennessee Association of Fairs Convention in January 2019.

A modeling workshop for pageants participants will be held on Saturday, August 4 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.at the Performing Arts Center, located at 112 Everbright Avenue. Attendance is not mandatory.

Pageant contestants must be full-time residents of Williamson County. Applications are due by Friday, August 3 and can be downloaded online along with a complete pageant schedule at www.williamsoncountyfair.org.
