A fast-growing Indian fast-casual restaurant chain is opening its first Tennessee location in Smyrna later this month, bringing new menu items, a cocktail bar and a grand opening celebration.
Curry Up Now will officially open on Saturday, August 22, at 2160 Rock Springs Road, Suite 600. The restaurant is locally owned by the Patel family, who have lived in Smyrna for more than 20 years.
“Middle Tennesseans are no strangers to change, especially after the area’s recent growth,” said Harsh Patel, local owner of Smyrna’s Curry Up Now. “A perfect match, we jumped at the opportunity to bring our thoughtfully reimagined cuisine to a community hungry for new flavors and experiences.”
The grand opening celebration begins at 11 a.m. The first 250 guests will receive a free burrito, and attendees can enjoy a live DJ, henna artist, photo booth and prize wheel. Grand prizes include free Curry Up Now meals for a year.
The Smyrna restaurant will also be the only Curry Up Now location to serve the “Nash & Three,” the chain’s Indian-inspired take on Tennessee’s traditional meat-and-three. The meal features two tandoori-charred chicken chops with masala mac, peri peri corn, saag paneer and naan.
In addition to its food menu, the location will feature Mortar and Pestle, a full-service cocktail bar offering craft cocktails, Tennessee draft beers, whiskey flights and non-alcoholic drinks.
Founded as a food truck in California in 2009, Curry Up Now has grown to 11 locations nationwide. Its menu includes Indian street food, burritos, bowls, samosas, naan wraps and other dishes, with options for vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free, keto and paleo diets.
The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, while the Mortar and Pestle bar will stay open later in the evening.
